Hyderabad has the second longest metro network in India, with a total length of 67 kms, while 5 kms of work is under construction.
There are 57 stations in this metro network, which provide its service to 54,750,00 passengers annually.
This complete system started from 29 November 2017, which is operated by Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR).
Average speed of this Metro is 35 km/h. and it can go upto 80 km/h. It’s considered the most valuable Metro Network in Hyderabad (Telangana).
It is an eco-friendly, fully automatic and world class transportation framework, which aims at carbon reduction using Regenerative Braking Technology technology.
So far, 67 km (42 mi) of the entire network is operational, while 5 km (3.1 mi) is Under Construction and 58 km (36 mi) Phase 2 DPR has been submitted.
3 Lines In Hyderabad Metro Rail Network
Red Line
It runs between Miyapur and L B Nagar with 27 metro stations. The length of this line is about 29.21 km.
Blue Line
It runs between Nagole and Hitech City with 22 Metro stations. The length of this line is about 27 km.
Green Line
It runs between JBS Parade Ground and Falaknuma with 15 metro stations. The length is about 15 km.

Ticketing and recharge
The Hyderabad project has a system of automatic ticketing system. It has features like contactless smart card ticket in, debit credit card payment, passenger operated ticket waiting machine and common ticketing system.
It also have a provision of NFC (Near Field Communication) -based technology to enable usage of mobile phones as fare media and high performance machine to avoid long queues.
