HI, students are studying in school or colleges then you must have heard about logarithm and log table which are commonly used in subject like physics chemistry math’s and also these log value are very important.
Many students find it difficult to use log tables, and at the same time remembering their value is as difficult as climbing a mountain.
That’s why today we have brought Log Table for you in PDF format, also you can learn to use it with the help of online videos. I suggest you to take a print out of this table so that you do not have trouble remembering it.
we have listed 1 to 100 Log Table from the below section where you can easily learn this valuable table.
How To Use Log Table Chart
Step 1: First of all, understand the concept of logarithms. Log base 10 is most commonly used in logarithms.
step 2: For example, if you want to find the value of log10 (13.45 ) then first of all you identify this number by separating the characteristic part and the mantissa part.
Characteristic Part = 13
Mantissa part = 45
step 3: Now look at the common log table. Now you check column number 4 by using row number 13. Whose value will be 1271.
step 4: Now use logarithm table with time interval, look at mean difference column no. 5 and row no. 13 you will get the corresponding value 16.

Now add the values obtained from both step 3 and step 4 whose value is 1271+16=1287

step 5: Now find the characteristics part because the number 13 is between 10 and 100 so the characteristic part should be 1.
Step 6: Finally combine both the characteristic part and the mantissa part, it becomes 1.1287.
log10 (13.45 ) = 1.1287 Answer

Important Types of Log and Definition
Natural logarithm logex : log with base e is called natural log where the value of e is 2.718.
Common logarithm logex : log with base 10 is called Common logarithm has many applications in Science and Engineering.
Binary Logarithm log2x: The binary logarithm uses base 2 (that is b = 2) and is commonly used in Computer Science.
Properties of Logarithm
Logarithms are the opposite phenomena of exponential like subtraction is the inverse of addition process, and division is the opposite phenomena of multiplication. Logs “undo” exponentials.
- logx(ab) = logxa+ logxb [Product Rule]
- logx(a/b) = logxa – logxb [Quotients Rule]
- loga x = logb x * loga b
- logb x = loga x * loga b
- logb xn = n logb x [Power Rule]
